Currently 18% of all new vehicles sold in the UK are provided with the Retainagroup system by 13 vehicle manufacturers (See adjacent list>). The ISR now maintains details of over 13 million vehicles.
If your new vehicle is not protected by our system ask your Dealer if they can arrange for the marking and registration to be carried out, for which they will charge a fee. If they are unable to do so, call us on 01233 333000.
Lifetime Registration
Once a vehicle is marked and registered it is protected for life. There are no further fees, annual subscriptions or charges to update or amend data on the Register unless a change of ownership takes place. A one off fee for changing ownership details is charged to the new owner.
Which one is the clone ?
Combating vehicle identity theft, including cloning
Retainagroup security codes are highly visible and unique to each vehicle. Unlike VINs or Registration numbers, they are based on arbitrary numbers and letters and therefore cannot provide the criminal with details about the identity of the vehicle or owner.
Our system cannot be cracked. It is the simplest and most cost-effective way to combat cloning, one of the most insidious and difficult to detect of vehicle crimes in the UK.
Before Buying
Before buying a used vehicle first check to see if it is Retainagroup marked. If it is, call the ISR contact telephone number for verification of the vehicle's identity, rightful owner details and PNC stolen vehicle status. All enquiries are processed for free, so verification of data costs just the price of a phone call.
You can also go online a www.ISRcodecheck.com and obtain stolen and cloned status reports instantly, free of charge. You will require VIN details to obtain a cloned report.
Remember, if you inadvertently buy a stolen/cloned vehicle you are in danger of having that vehicle removed by the Police and you will receive no compensation!
